‘Personal injury’ is a very broad phrase and can cover all manner of distressing incidents, whether the injury suffered is physical or psychological. Injuries may be relatively small or they could be more serious involving surgery, occupational therapy, rehabilitation and on-going drug treatment.

Personal injury claims cover the expense of rehabilitation, treatment and equipment needed to recover or cope with an injury as well as compensating you for your pain and suffering. Making a personal injury claim may also help prevent the same accident happening to someone else.

Most common types of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping accidents and product defect accidents (product liability).

At KQ Solicitors we understand that getting back to your normal way of life after suffering a personal injury can be difficult, so we endeavour to make your claims process as stress-free as possible.

No Win No Fee Agreement

No Win No Fee arrangements (or Conditional Fee Arrangements; CFAs) take the risk out of making a personal injury claim, as they ensure that if you do not win your accident claim, you do not have to pay your solicitor a fee.

If your claim is unsuccessful, you could be liable to pay the other side’s costs, but you may be benefit from one way costs shifting regime.

No win no fee compensation claims were introduced to the UK in 1995 and replaced Legal Aid, a government enabled system for providing funding to help people get a fair hearing and access to justice, even if they couldn’t afford to pay for legal representation themselves. People who believed they were entitled to compensation applied for Legal Aid and grants were ‘means-tested’.

The no win no fee claims system shifts costs from the legal aid system. It also removes the need for an application process to satisfy an independent regulator that there is a reasonable case. Instead, these decisions are now up to the discretion of the solicitor. Therefore, the agreement is between the law firm and the client. If you win your no win no fee claim, you should receive your compensation after necessary deductions permitted by law. (we deduct 25% )

One of our specialist solicitors will tell you whether your case is suitable for a no win no fee claim. Our compensation solicitors will also explain the no win no fee claims process to you clearly before you start your compensation claim.
