Free Immigration & Family Law Advice in Luton
Every Friday from 13:00 to 14:00, KQ Solicitors provides free initial immigration and family law guidance at The Dallow Centre. No appointment. No charge. No obligation. Our team speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi and Arabic, because legal help should never be stopped by a language barrier.
If you are looking for free immigration advice in Luton, or you need first-step legal guidance before making an important decision, come and see us this Friday. The Friday clinic is funded entirely by KQ Solicitors as part of our commitment to the local community. There is no grant, no charity backing, no government funding. We do it because we are based in this community and we believe everyone deserves to understand their legal position before making a life-changing decision.
Important: This Is Initial Guidance Only
The Friday clinic is designed to help you understand your issue and identify possible next steps. It is not a substitute for a full legal consultation, written advice, document review or formal representation. If your matter is urgent, complex or deadline-sensitive, we may recommend a private appointment so your case can be reviewed properly.
The Friday Clinic — When, Where and How It Works
Every Friday we set up at The Dallow Centre and make ourselves available to local people who walk in with an immigration or family law question.
Sessions are first come, first served — arrive early for the best chance of being seen. If we cannot fit you in, we will tell you exactly when to return or how to book a private consultation at our office.
We Speak Your Language
Many people in Luton delay getting legal advice simply because they are not confident in English. Our team speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi and Arabic, and we understand the cultural background of many families across Luton, Bury Park and the surrounding areas.
Khurram Qureshi and Mairaj Mehmood are fluent in Urdu and Punjabi. Hassan Sajjad assists Arabic-speaking clients directly. You are welcome to speak in whichever language makes you most comfortable.
If you need someone to attend with you to help explain your situation, you are welcome to bring them.
Why This Clinic Exists
We started this clinic because we kept meeting people who had received wrong guidance from unregulated advisers, or who had delayed getting help simply because they assumed a solicitor would be too expensive. A short conversation can often prevent a serious and costly mistake.
We fund this clinic ourselves. There is no grant, no charity backing, no government funding. We do it because we are based in this community and we believe everyone deserves to understand their legal position before making a life-changing decision.
The Only Solicitor-Run Free Walk-In Service in Luton
Citizens Advice Luton provides excellent general guidance. Registered immigration advisers can help with straightforward applications. But only a regulated solicitor firm can represent you in court, draft judicial review grounds, or challenge a Home Office decision at the Upper Tribunal. So if your case might ever need formal legal action, you are already talking to the right people.
What We Can Help With
We cannot handle your full case in one hour. But we can give you clear direction, explain your options honestly, and help you understand the next practical step.

- Spouse and partner visa applications
- Visit visa applications and refusals
- Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 5 or 10 years
- British citizenship by naturalisation
- Skilled Worker visa issues and employer changes
- Student and Graduate visa extensions and switching
- Family reunion and dependant visa questions
- Sponsor licence initial guidance
- Previous visa refusal — understanding what went wrong
- Home Office correspondence and urgent deadlines

Family Law Matters

What the Free Session Includes
During the free session our team can help you:
- Understand your legal issue clearly
- Identify the correct visa route or legal process
- Understand why a visa may have been refused
- Check which documents are relevant to your situation
- Understand whether your matter is urgent
- Know the next practical steps you should take
This is especially useful if you are confused, worried or simply unsure where to begin. Many people who come to us have never spoken to a solicitor before and just need a clear and honest explanation of where they stand.
What the Free Session Does Not Include
To keep this service fair and available to as many people as possible, the free session does not include:
- Full visa application preparation
- Full document review
- Written legal advice
- Home Office representations
- Court or tribunal representation
- Ongoing casework without a formal agreement
If your case needs this level of support, we will explain our fixed fees clearly and honestly. There is never any pressure to instruct us.
What Happens After the Free Session
Some people leave with a clear answer and never need us again. Others discover their case is more complex than they thought.
If you need formal representation, we will explain:
- What work your case actually requires
- How long it is likely to take
- What it will cost — fixed fee, no surprises
- Whether you even need a solicitor or whether you can handle it yourself
We have advised people to handle their own applications when it was straightforward enough to do so. We have also seen people who tried to save money by doing it themselves and ended up with a refusal that cost far more to fix. The free session gives you the facts to make the right decision for your situation.
If you decide you need our help, we will book your private consultation before you leave the clinic, or you can call us on 01582 966180 anytime.
