Our client had been living legally in the UK for over 10 years and applied for Indefinite Leave to Remain through the partner route. The application encountered serious complications and required further work beyond a standard submission.
KQ Solicitors reviewed the position carefully, prepared further representations and continued to pursue the matter firmly on the client’s behalf.

Our client had been working in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa but was stranded abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to travel back to the UK for an extended period. This created an absence from the UK that would normally create serious difficulties for an ILR application under the continuous residence requirement.
KQ Solicitors prepared a detailed exceptional circumstances submission, gathered the right supporting evidence including employer letters and travel documentation, and presented a strong case on the client’s behalf citing the relevant Home Office COVID-19 concession policy.

Our client was based in the UK and sponsoring his wife’s spouse visa application from Pakistan. On paper his salary appeared to meet the financial requirement, but when we carefully reviewed his payslips the figures came in just below the required threshold — and his employment letter reflected the same amount.
Rather than proceed and risk an unsuccessful outcome, KQ Solicitors took a more thorough approach. We identified that the sponsor’s wife held £90,000 in savings — funds that had been held for the required period and properly satisfied the savings requirement under the Immigration Rules.
We restructured the financial evidence so the application properly relied on the available savings, supported by the sponsor’s employment evidence, and ensured everything was presented in line with the requirements of Appendix FM-SE.
The application was approved.
