Why It Matters

Why You Need an Immigration Solicitor in Luton

Immigration cases often face setbacks from incomplete forms, unclear evidence, or frequent policy changes. Many applicants spend months correcting mistakes that could have been avoided.

A qualified solicitor prepares applications that meet current Home Office standards, checks every document, and ensures nothing is missed — preventing refusals and keeping your case on track.

Prevent Costly Refusals

Most refusals come from wrong format or missing docs. We catch these before submission.

Faster Processing

Accurate applications mean fewer delays and requests for additional information.

Local Tribunal Knowledge

We know how local offices assess — cases prepared to exact standards.

Expert Insight

What UKVI Caseworkers Look For — And Where Applications Fail

01

Financial Evidence in Wrong Format

Bank statements must be dated within 28 days of application. Payslips must be consecutive. Net vs gross confusion is the most common mistake.

02

Missing or Expired Documents

TB certificates, English test results, police certificates — if one is expired or missing, the caseworker refuses. They do not request missing items.

03

Weak Relationship Evidence

Photos and WhatsApp messages alone are not enough. Caseworkers want joint tenancy, joint bank accounts, and official correspondence.

04

Date Inconsistencies

Contradictions between the application form, personal statement, and supporting documents — even minor date discrepancies — trigger refusals.

05

Trying to Switch from a Visitor Visa

You cannot switch from a Standard Visitor Visa to a spouse visa. This is one of the most common refusal reasons and is not recoverable.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The minimum income threshold is £29,000 gross per year for new applications submitted on or after 11 April 2024. If you earn less, savings can bridge the gap using the formula: £16,000 + (shortfall × 2.5). Savings-only applications require £88,500.
Standard processing takes approximately 12 weeks from outside the UK and 8 weeks from inside. Priority service targets 30 working days (outside) or 5 working days (inside). Super priority targets the next working day.
Yes. Only savings above £16,000 count. They must be held for 6 continuous months. The lowest balance during that period is what UKVI examines. With no income, you need £88,500 in savings.
You can request an administrative review (£80, currently 12+ months), appeal to the First-tier Tribunal if Article 8 is engaged, or submit a fresh application. For most applicants, a correctly prepared reapplication is the fastest route forward.
Yes, from day one. Full unrestricted right to work with no restriction on occupation, sector, or hours. Prove your right to work with a share code from your UKVI account.
A1 minimum for the initial application from a UKVI-approved SELT provider (Trinity, IELTS, LanguageCert, Pearson, PSI). A2 for extension. B1 for settlement/ILR. Taking B1 early saves retesting later. Certificates expire after 2 years.
Budget approximately £4,000–£6,000. This includes our legal fee from £950, Home Office fee (£2,064 outside UK / £1,407 inside), and Immigration Health Surcharge (~£3,105 for 3 years). Priority service adds £500–£1,000.
Submit FLR(M) before your current leave expires. The financial requirement applies again (check whether £18,600 transitional or £29,000 applies). You need A2 English and updated relationship evidence. Submit no more than 28 days before leave expires.
